From the calm waters of Croatia's Adriatic to the deep azure seas of Greece with her countless islands and golden sandy beaches, the skippers at Sail Aweigh have many gems up our sleeves. We're ready to show you the jaw-dropping beauty of some of the best-kept secrets in the Mediterranean.
Because of flight arrangements and other logistics, Greece is currently the best value for money. It's very cheap overall and our suggested itinerary (flying from Dublin to Athens on Saturday morning) guarantees you a full 7 days onboard and opens up many islands that wouldn't be viable on a 5 or 6-day sail.
Our Yachts are chosen from a fleet of pristine and modern well-kempt 45 to 53 footers and are kitted to the highest standards with generators, inverters and air-con to compliment all the nautical mod-cons you'd have come to expect as standard...Bow Thruster, GPS, Remote Electric Windlass, etc.
Travelling in May and August we have the cooler springtime option or the balmy 40s of the late summer when sea temperatures are peaking at around 26degC....so What are you waiting for? Click here to learn more...
VHF - Short Range Certificate
VHFs have been the communications tool of choice afloat for decades but technology continues to improve and today your radio can summon assistance digitally with the press of a button...the catch though, is that you need a licence and MMSI Number in order to use these facilities...That's your VHF SRC.
Sail Aweigh have recently refined the course into a single long day (instead of the traditional 2-days) so if you're up for an early start we'll have you done and dusted by teatime.
EPIRBs, SARTs, PLBs, Navtex as well as Fixed and Portable VHFs. We use the most up-to-date digital technology to deliver this course, which comes with some pre-course reading and includes the exams by the Department.
